
Consult provided marketing services to a company offering a unique type of computer support.
Hampton Associates work on a retainership basis for companies that aren't big enough to emply their own IT Manager, but still need to perform all the functions that the IT Manager would do.
Hampton Associates was founded in 2004 by a group of consultants from creative, HR and IT backgrounds. Their aim is to provide a service delivering IT and HR support that will allow the businesses to focus on their core business avoiding the ongoing distractions.
They offer different levels of service, tailored to meet the size as well as the technical and business requirements of their clients. Many companies have computer networks that have evolved as the business grew, and were never planned properly. They are often on different platforms, different operating systems, different software releases and have multiple databases which are not integrated. Those companies that do backup their data, rarely back it all up and most of them don't have proper recovery processes in place.
Hampton Associates specialises in working with their clients to make sure the computer network and systems meet their current and future business requirements. They can integrate different systems; whether Apple, Microsoft or Linux based; upgrade operating systems; provide training and even provide specialist application or design resource when required.
They engaged Tony Merrygold of Consult to help take this new service to their already indentified market.
Following a meeting to understand the service and the target markets, Tony developed a full marketing plan identifying the work required. Then while Hampton Associates concentrated on their day to day business, Tony worked with them over a period of 2 months to ensure everything was fully implemented. This work included the following:
- Identifying the USPs for the new service
- Developing plans to address the first target market
- Defining the sales messages to the target market
- Refining the pricing model and package options available
- Refining the existing contract terms and conditions
- Review of prospect database and provision of additional prospect data in the target marketplace
- Production of a brief for a Telemarketing company, together with the development of a set of answers to likely objections
Hampton Associate's skills include graphic design so they undertook the design and production of their own marketing materials, with Consult advising on content, to ensure they were delivering the correct messages for the target marketplace.
