Case Study - Classic Car Hire World

Tony Merrygold of Consult  has been providing advice on running websites for  a number of years, and runs a number of client websites under contract.  As Tony also runs a classic car hire company in the UK - The Open Road and runs courses helping other people start up classic car hire companies he spotted a gap in the information available on the Internet.

Using his own skills and knowledge and working with Quinsolve who run his web sites and a number of tourist portals, Tony has built a completely new web site promoting classic car hire on a worldwide basis Classic Car Hire World

On its launch day, Classic Car Hire World was announced covering 12 countries (13 if you count Scotland as a separate country), almost 120 companies and over 1,200 classic and modern sports cars for hire.

Quinsolve has been designing, building and running web sites for customers since 1995, starting  with one of the earliest tourist portals in the UK - for Stratford upon Avon.  This quickly built into the main reference portal for the Stratford area and to this day consistently appears at the top of the major search engines, particularly Google.  Quinsolve quickly followed with a portal site for Chipping Campden, one of the most beautiful towns in The Cotswolds.

This experience meant that Quinsolve were the ideal partner to build Classic Car Hire World.  As Tony wanted the web site to stand out from every other website he engaged a local designer with a motor industry background, Tom Owen of Photografic,  to design a new logo, full corporate identity and the main pages for the web site.

Although this industry is know as 'Classic Car Hire' in the UK, it is regarded as 'Sports Car Hire' or 'Exotic Car Hire' in other countries.  The brief to Photografic and Quinsolve was therefore to design and build a website that could cover all three of options.

The logo that was designed (shown above) works with all three combinations of words and Quinsolve have effectively built three websites around a central database structure.  That way the entire content of the website is available via three main domain names www.classiccarhireworld.com www.sportscarhireworld.com and www.exoticcarhireworld.com

The most crucial factor in determining the success of a website is its success in being 'spidered' by the main search engines, particularly Google.  So Quinsolve have built the websites in such a way that every item in the database is effectively on its own page and will therefore be 'spidered' by Google and ensure that Classic Car Hire World is ranked highly.  In addition to this  Tony Merrygold has registered another 20 domain names, as part of his well known 'surround and protect' strategy, which all point to the main website to further improve rankings.
